Day 10. Armidale. 26.10.23

Rain and wind on and off over night. It wasn't cold though. Still drizzling when we got up.

  The army are here for a display over the weekend.  They were off on a run by 7am.
  Bit of a different sky this morning. 

Today we are going back to the Oxley Wild Rivers National Park but to walk the Wollomombi and Chandler tracks. We have rugged up as the wind is very chilly this morning and we are expecting to get a little wet.

   Edgar's Lookout was our first stop.

We saw lots of these Wallabies. 
We walked a total of 6.53kms, just beating yesterdays 6.47!

Popped in to the Wollomombi village and ended up having lunch at the general store. It was a great country shop. The village has a population of 50 people.

On the way home we stopped in at the library to see what I thought was going to be a big war memorial display.  I was wrong.  Then we drove up to the Apex Lookout.

We decided to spend the rest of the day inside as the wind is bone chilling. I have put a few YouTube videos up of our bush walking on the previous pages.  They're unedited as I'm yet to acquire that skill.

Day 17. Corindi. 2.11.23

Caught up with some Blazeaid friends in Moonee this morning. Had a lovely morning tea and checked out their new home. With no real plan we headed to Woolgoolga for a look.  Murals at the RSL. Woolgoolga beach looked tempting for a paddle. All the caravan parks were fully booked so we moved on to Corindi. We are in a bush camp at a sports ground with lots of big old trees and only a short walk to the beach. Board walk down to the beach. Treasures on the beach.  We watched a whale playing for quite awhile.  Our home among the gum trees.  This huge tree has a hole in its trunk.  Today we travelled 66kms and walked 5kms.

Day 14. Urunga. 30.10.23

 A couple of pics from my morning walk.  The Dunny Can Man. It's so lovely and green. Packing up to head towards the coast. Wollomombi pine tree. Descended from the Gondwana forest. A seed was planted here some 25 years ago. Apparently there aren't many of these trees left. The boys went to see a train collection and were given a very informative tour. Parked in Dorrigo and wandered around town. Unfortunately the stores I wanted to look at weren't open.  Stopped at the Old Butter Factory in Bellingen. I really enjoyed this place with it's relics, animals and various stores. We are staying in Urunga for a few nights at a caravan park by the Bellingen River.  Today we travelled 44kms.

Day 5. Leslie Dam, Warwick 21.10.23

I went for an EARLY morning walk at stupid o'clock but took some nice panoramic shots over the water pre dawn. I developed an ocular migraine so cut my walk short and went back to bed just before 6am and slept for over 2 hours. We went for a drive into Warwick.  We have been here before so just had a quick look around after visiting our favourite cafe. The next 2 photos are compliments of Gunther.  On the way home we stopped to have a look at the dam wall.  I decided not to climb up to the top today as I'm still feeling a bit 'off' so I went home for another snooze in the aircon. It's 31° at lunchtime.  After a very lazy afternoon we are cooking a roast dinner.
